Stick It

I have SO many things to do over the next couple of weeks and I've been feeling extremely anxious about getting everything done. I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I'm obsessed with making lists. I need to be able to see everything I need to get done and I just love to cross things off.

Today, I was writing multiple lists and reminders on Post-Its and I realized how much I could not live without them.

I have stacks of regular colored Post-Its, but I also have quite the collection of preppy ones as well.

The one on the bottom is a Vineyard Vines mousepad that's actually a stack of paper. It's great for jotting down quick notes and reminders while at the computer. Vera Bradley Post-it booklet is on the left, then my Lilly "Stuck On You" booklet, and on the right is my Vineyard Vine's polo Post-it stack.

The inside of the Lilly booklet. I love the different shapes... there's one for everything you need!

The long ones on the left are fabulous for lists. I love how they're lined. I use the hot pink ones on the bottom right for dividing things in notebooks and as bookmarks.

Two reminders that I left on the side of my desk hutch.

Another reminder (on boring, but pink, Post-It) on the corner of my desk.

My "To-Do" list for tonight on the front of my Kate Spade agenda.

Another "To-Do" list from a few weeks ago.

My schedule, in case I forget.

Every week, I make a list of all the homework I have due. I make it the Friday before so I can be efficient during the weekend. This one is from a couple of weeks ago.

I separate my economic lecture notes with the skinny Vera Bradley Post-its. It makes it easy to flip between the packets.

This isn't a Post-it, but I pin it to my bulletin board. I have to see everything written down!

Well, by writing this post, I can check one more thing off my list!

Parent's Weekend

It's parent's weekend and my mom and dad are landing in DC in an hour or so. This is going to be a quick post, and I definitely won't have time to blog until sometime next week.

It's also freezing cold and rainy!!!

This is what I've been wearing every morning at practice.

Good luck to all crews at the Head of the Charles this weekend!!!

PS I hope you feel better Georgetown Boy... No more infections!

Oliver's Labels

A month or so ago, I did a post about Back to School for Elementary aged kids. I commented about making sure everything a student brought to school was labeled in. My lunch box was left on my bus on an almost weekly basis!

Oliver's Labels graciously sent me samples of their labels. Let me say, these are awesome.

If your child has a tendency to lose things or leave them behind, definitely look into these labels. The company offers a variety of labels for shoes, toothbrushes, lunch boxes, t-shirts, sippy cups, etc. Browse through the Product section.

The labels themselves are great for kids! They have designs for kids of all ages. I'm a bit partial to the Animal Faces. Some of the designs are made for allergies (Gluten, Nuts, Dairy, Eggs, & Seafood).

Once you have labeled everything your child owns, what happens when it's lost? Oliver's Labels provides a "Found-It Tracking System." The labels with this system have a code printed on them and the person is directed to the website where they can report the item as found.

Here are the labels I received. I got the Polka Dot design. The ones on the left are the "Original Labels." The labels in the upper right are "Mini Labels" and bottom right are "Shoe Labels." You can customize yours with Last Names and Phone Numbers. (And the Found It System).

I put a label on the underside of my Cox Box!

And the inside of my cell phone back cover.

And my calculator case!

Have a great Columbus Day!

Divine Intervention?

I believe I may have encountered a true Divine Intervention today.

And I need your help!!!

I'm a coxswain for the men's heavyweight rowing team here at Georgetown. We have morning practices and it's been pretty cold every morning.

I rowed in Florida all through high school and never had to deal with cold weather, so I am not adequately equipped with the proper gear.

I'm slowly accumulating the proper wardrobe, but my feet are still chilly!!! I typically wear sneakers on a normal day and LL Bean Bean Boots when it's rainy. I'm very anti-Ugg though. I think it has something to do with girls from high school wearing Uggs and denim skirts.

Today, I was shopping around Georgetown. I finally broke down and went to try on a pair of Uggs. I decided on a grey pair. I went to check out, but the salesman told me that it was declined. Um, yeah, notsomuch. Within thirty seconds of me beginning to freak out (even though I KNEW it was THEM, not me), I received an email on my crackberry informing me that there was suspicious activity on my card. Two seconds after reading the email, Bank of America called to confirm the weird charges.

Sure enough, the store had charged me FOUR times in FOUR states within seconds of ringing me up. I was SO thankful that BOA saved me! The lady was so helpful and cancelled my card. Luckily, there is a Bank of America right down Wisconsin, so I scooted over there and got a temporary card. Don't worry, the shopping continued at Vineyard Vines!

I'm considering this story a Divine Intervention for me to stay away from Uggs. But I still need to keep my feet warm!!!

What do you all think? Go with Uggs? Or something else? Or suffer? Ah! Help, please!

PS IF, and only IF, I actually get Uggs, I will only be wearing them for crew related purposes.

FALLing in Love with Vineyard Vines

Is it bad that I want EVERYTHING???

I love the patchwork... Especially the grey. I love grey and I think a lot of people underestimate it!

Um, Hello?!? LOVE the buttons!

I love this skirt... I don't think I could decide between the yellow and the green versions though. Maybe get the dress in one, and the skirt in the other... Haha.

Ohhhh... Love this dress (especially with the boots)!

Perfect pants to wear down to the boathouse on chilly mornings!

Every closet needs a puffer!

Cute colors!

I am really loving the hoodie...

Nautical and Fall in one sweater.

I was extremely disappointed with Lilly Pulitzer's fall collection. I don't like the prints or styles or colors.

On the other hand, Vineyard Vines did a FABULOUS job! They made a fabulous transition from Summer to Fall with their new collection. What do you all think about the new things?

All I need now, is a Money Tree!!!
