Guest Post- Everything’s better in Texas

Hey ya’ll! I’m Kristi from The Preppy Girl Next Door and I am so excited to be doing this guest post for Carly!

One of my favorite things to do is travel. I have a goal of visiting every state at least once before I turn 50. I also want to travel out of the country. And we all know that Carly is in England so what better thing to talk about? With all that being said I am now going to give all of you fabulous readers my favorite destination in the U.S. and some places to stay and things to do that are just as fabulous and fun. Dallas, Texas Dallas is probably one of my favorite vacation destination. I have family friends that live there and typically end up staying with them, but if I had the chance to I would be staying at hotels like these… Hotel Palomar in Downtown Dallas

There has to be a pool at any hotel I stay at and I am pretty sure this one is amazing! But this hotel also has a ton of shopping close by and it is close to the Dallas Museum of Art and blocks away from SMU which has the Meadows Museum. Ahh yes I am in love. Hotel Indigo Dallas

Hotel Indigo follows Hotel Palomar in a close second. Hotel Indigo does not have a pool which is a definite downer, but I am in love with the outside of the hotel and the colors! I love all the white molding in picture two and the furniture in picture 3. This definitely seems like a place where I could escape. And for any of you that are into history this hotel is less than a mile from the The 6th Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, which is where JFK’s assassin was when he shot him. You can also see the two red x’s on the highway, which is were the car was when JFK was shot. So I am sure ya’ll want to know more than just where to stay. How about we talk about things to do and places to eat? Of course there is the aforementioned shopping and museums, but how about some fun in the sun and sporting events. Activity #1 Six Flags Over Texas I love this theme park and it is great for everyone! It is also a nice chance to get away and have fun and act like a kid again. Batmobile, Roller Coasters

and crazy rides

that leave you soaking wet.

Oh and don’t forget the parades! Activity #2 Sporting Events Depending on when you are in Texas there are about three major sports I can think of that you could go to.

A Dallas Cowboys football game at Cowboys Stadium. Of course there is also Texans football, but lets be honest…win, loose, or tie I am a Cowboy fan until I die.

A Texas Rangers baseball game at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington or last but not least my favorite sport….

A FC Dallas soccer game at Pizza Hut Park. Well that is my condensed version of your fabulous guide to Dallas, Texas. There is so much more to do and see that I can’t even begin to fit it all in. And a big thanks to Carly for the honor of guest posting and to all of you for being such fabulous readers. Lots of Love, Kristi
