I want to rewind the clock

... and be 7 years old again.

These playhouses are INCREDIBLE. I found them at Lilliput Playhomes.

This one is definitely my favorite. It looks like a real house. And I love the porch!!!

So cute!

This definitely one-ups the half puppet show/half grocery store stand that my sister and I had.

A little much, but I wouldn't complain. ;-)

Oh, and you MUST check out their custom playhouses. Holy moly. There are some spoiled kids out there.

Heading to Henley!

I'm coxing a four at Henley in July!!! You can read all about the Henley Royal Regatta here.

The four guys I'm coxing are absolutely awesome; I feel so fortunate to be able to go with them.

I need a little bit of help from you guys though!

First, if anyone lives in the Georgetown/DC area and needs a babysitter, PLEASE CONTACT ME! I'm going to be training through June here and would love to have something to do.

Second, I'm going to need below-the-knee dresses! I've seen a few from Boden, but they need to be a bit dressier... Can you guys help? I would love you forever and ever and ever.

Looks for Less- again!

I'm sure you guys have seen these super cute baby socks by Trumpette. I'm quite partial to the ballet slipper ones!!!

They're a bit pricey though... And you'd have to imagine that the socks can't be worn for all the long due to growing feet and dirty floors. I found cute ones from Target that are very similar... but with a better price tag!

Theory of Threes

So I have this theory. It applies specifically to my life, but could probably be manipulated to apply to others. Basically, I divide my life into three categories: School, Crew, and Social. School is essentially grades, projects, stress levels, etc. Crew involves everything: how practices go, if I get time in the launch, what boats I'm in, who is in my lineup, etc. Social is everything else. Mainly, how much free time I have, boys, friends, etc.

In my head, I have this picture of three equally large jars all lined up. I have a bag of sand that contains enough sand to fill up all three jars half way. The sand represents how much time I can devote to a particular category.

How much the jar is filled up represents my performance, I guess the outcome (?) of the category. It's kind of confusing I guess, but anyways... If I divide my time equally, then the jars are all halfway filled. This means that each category is functioning, but only at a mediocre caliber.

I need school to go really well and crew to go well too, so mostly, I'll allocate the sand from Social and stick 75% of it in School and 25% in Crew. I have to give up Social to get more School and Crew.

It's really weird, but I'll start to panic if I think Social is going really well because I know that means Crew and School's sand amounts are cut back.

Since it's summer, School is drained to zero. And I can put more sand into Crew and Social. Social is an absolute bust right now (=NO SAND). So, Crew is literally overflowing. I have more sand than I have room! I can't wait to fill you guys in later!!!

Oh, and along with that extra Crew sand came a super sweet sunburn. Epic.

UPDATE: After receiving several comments, I realized that I didn't completely explain myself perfectly. (My English professor this semester- LITTLE V & CALIFORNIA FUNK- would always get on me about assuming the reader understood my stream of thoughts... Apparently, I'm difficult to understand.) Anyways, I thought I should clarify.

The sand in the jars is good! Crew is going SO GREAT right now!!! It's overflowing with fantasticness- yes, I made that work up. I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining.... I feel so lucky and blessed that I can spend half of my summer vacation doing something I love.

Also, I'm not trying to sound like I'm the busiest person on the planet. I'm a pretty good time manager, multi-tasker, etc. But, there is a limit on how much someone can do something in a day. It doesn't matter whether you're the president or a homeless person: YOU ONLY HAVE 24 HOURS IN A DAY. Putting sand in the jars is simply my visual representation of how I choose to spend the 24 hours.

Hope this clears it up!

Matter of Trust

A follower just emailed me about a really cool program.

The organization is asking that pet groomers and hair salons send extra hair to help clean up the oil spill. That is recycling if I ever heard it (Little V would love it!)...

Please take a minute of your time to check out their website HERE and consider contacting your salons/groomers to participate!

Princess Hair Bows

While searching for the perfect Florida Gator bow for Sporty Sister.... I found these precious bows from Pretty Bows Boutique.

What little girl wouldn't want a princess bow holding back her hair?

Snow White is my fave Disney Princess. You know I have the whole pale skin/dark hair going on.
And Alice has her own little bow? LOVE IT. (Especially after my whole Phoebe in Wonderland obsession)

I'm not a huge Tinkerbell fan–she's a bit too sassy for me– but I love her skirt on the bow!

The Girls are the Fairest

Sporty Sister is graduating high school... WHAT?! How/When did this happen???

She needs this hair bow for football games! Right? You can find it here. I'm thinking this bow might even make Tim Tebow swoon.

Remember at the beginning of the year when I helped with a breakfast to celebrate the class of 2010?

Preppy Crunch!

I love my blackberry. (Even though I'm drooling over the Droid... I feel like I need the star gazing app- so much fun to play with!)

My favorite part about Blackberries? BBM [Blackberry Messenger] of course.

However, my new favorite freshman (I guess they're rising sophomores now)... anyways he's awesome and we're kinda twins. Everyone gets annoyed when we find something else we have in common.

Anyways, he downloaded this new application called Crunch SMS. It's legit. And makes regular messages look like ones on iPhones. I love that it reads like a conversation instead of having to open every individual messages.

I customized my text bubbles to be pink and green! It makes texting so much preppier!

I think you have to set up a firewall (or something) to block texts from entering your normal SMS message box and redirect it to the Crunch SMS app. Otherwise you'll get texts in both boxes.

xoxo

UPDATE (May 23, 2010): Here are my color codes
Incoming Bubble Color: RED 170, GREEN 250, BLUE 105
Outgoing Bubble Color: RED 255, GREEN 125, BLUE 180
Selected Bubble Color: RED 10, GREEN 205, BLUE 230
