New CP Desktop Wallpaper!

What a strange day, 11/11/11.
What’s quite scary is that it’s November!  Finals are right around the corner…. much closer than we realize I think.  I always find that I’m so looking forward to going home for Thanksgiving.  I go home and have an amazing time.  Then I ship back to school and BAM!  It’s the last week of class, study days, and then final exams.  And then I’m home again!
I don’t think final exams ever get less stressful.  Yikes.  However, I saw this quotation floating around Tumblr, and it couldn’t be more accurate.
Definitely a great reminder to have on your laptop desktop!
“I believed in studying just because I knew education was a privilege.”
-Wynton Marsalis

One of my favorite Beatles song is “Here Comes the Sun.”
It’s charming, uplifting, and just absolutely perfect for summer.
I was listening to it (on repeat, of course) and decided it would make a great summer desktop quotation!!!  Add a cheery Lilly print and voilá!

YES! You reminded me how much I love this song when you posted about it once and I was listening to it a few nights ago with my brother and he goes, "hey it's the Parent Trap song!" haha I'm glad he knows it as that and glad you found that soundtrack!!

Hope you post this on Tumblr soon so I can reblog asap 🙂

word of advice:

this font is a lot prettier…

When^ You^ Type^ Like^ This^

oddly enough. It gets rid of those funny little things that hang off the ends and just makes it look more finished.

New CP Desktop Wallpaper!

This past week has been beyond strange.  A constant push and pull of emotions.
One minute, I’m feeling on top of the world.  Checking things off my list, writing emails like it’s my job, answering questions, doing homework, studying for exams.  Everything in control.
The next minute, my brain has 428 different ideas simultaneously bouncing against my skull.  I can’t think straight, I can’t complete one darn thing, I’m homesick, annoyed, mad, and sad all at once.  I found myself crying because I didn’t print Powerpoint slides in the right way.
I realized that I was just being dumb, and irrational.  Sure, I didn’t print the slides correctly… but is it that big of a deal?  NO.
And then, just as quickly as those beyond overwhelming feelings sprung up on me… I get an incredibly nice email, a Facebook chat from a girl from high school saying even nicer things, two interviews (Her Campus and College Gloss), an easy quiz, etc.
Even though I had those terrible feelings…. and I felt like crying (well, I did cry) and not moving and stomping my feet and just throwing my hands in the air… I kept moving.
I kept working.
And then the good things started happening.
And then I felt better.
I’ve been repeating this phrase in my head over and over for the past month or so… especially when I feel “too tired” to study.  Too tired to go to practice.  Too tired to blog.  Too tired to write.  Too tired to do anything that I have to do.  It picks me up, reminds me of the end goal, and keeps me motivated.
I hope it does the same for you!!!

PS For the record, I don’t need to be locked in a psyche ward… I know my mom is going to read this and think I’m going crazy!  I promise I’m not!!!! hehe

It's definitely that point in the semester where it's just getting through the day. Last week was similar for me, but like you, there definitely is positives that come from working hard. Love the quote and the background. It is saved! I adore reading your blog, and this was very inspirational. Hope your week goes well love!

Oh my word, this is what I am going through right now! I have a thousand things that are due this coming week, and I have no motivation to do them. :0

I hope the new wall-paper helps me get motivated. And getting College Prep tonight will hopefully help too. 😀

Lovely! Just a question, where do you get the background images for your wallpapers? I tend to make collages for my wallpapers, but I think adding in a pattern would look nice.

New CP Desktop Wallpaper!

As we move into the hectic holiday season, sometimes it’s too easy to get overwhelmed with everything we have to do.
Last week I was incredibly overwhelmed by everything that was being thrown my way.  I felt in over my head.  But, eleven (not kidding), lists later, I realized that I could manage my time and make it all work.  This week is going to be CRAZY!  And I know a lot of other people feel the same way.
Just remember, there’s time to….
Watch an episode of Gossip Girl
Go to lunch with your friends
Enjoy a cup of coffee while sitting down
Listen to Lisa Mitchell on repeat
Exercise (or not.)
Bake cookies
Paint, Read, and Write
This is going to be my desktop background all the way through finals.
“THERE IS TIME FOR EVERYTHING”

That quote is so great! And I think sometimes I forget that I can do everything I want to do. And with stress from finals and what not sometimes you NEED to do everything you want. Thanks for a GREAT background, Carly!
