One of the benefits of going to a Catholic university is that we get a long break for Easter. Typically everyone goes home. Like, campus turns into a ghost town. In the past, I've had to stay for the crew regatta that takes place on the Potomac... but seeing as how I don't do crew anymore, I have a lot more freedom with my weekend. It starts today!!!
I'm not going home, let's face it, it's impossible to get work done when I'm home. (Sorry Mom, but it's true.) The house is loud, there's always some sort of shopping to be done, and we have a television in almost every room. Not a good working environment.
I've made a schedule for the weekend and I can't wait! What's on the docket?
I'm spending today catching up on sleep, filtering through email inboxes, gearing up for next week, and writing cover letters. Then, I'm meeting up with some friends who graduated a few years ago tonight.
On Friday, I'm doing more cover letters/job searching in the morning. I'm also really excited to go watch the afternoon races at the regatta on the Potomac. It will be the first time that I've really exposed myself to the sport since I quit. I feel like I have plenty of time from then and now so I can actually enjoy the races.
And Friday night... HUNGER GAMES!
Bah- I can't wait for it. I read the books over a year ago and I've been holding off watching the movie because I don't really want to see it. Correction: I really want to see it, but I don't want the magic of watching it for the first time to be over. I still haven't seen the final Harry Potter movie for this exact reason!
I'm definitely planning on going to see the movie alone with a big bucket of popcorn and a Diet Coke. I rarely drink Diet Coke, however, it's required in a movie theatre!
Saturday is going to be a day dedicated to writing a paper that's due next week. Not that much fun, but I like the professor and I like my topic so it shouldn't be too bad.
Steph and I have planned a picnic for Sunday! How fun is that? Here's to hoping that we have good weather since we got rained out of our Cherry Blossom plans!!!
Monday is catch up day and I have a few meetings.
Sorry for the randomness of this post, but I'm so excited to have a few days to myself. (And I'm praying that my dorm is actually quiet over the weekend!)
What are your Easter plans?
