Outfits for Dates (on a budget!)

While there is no love interest in my life right now (but you can read about #boys here), I do like to plan little outfits for dates. Really, that's at least half of the fun.

Plus, who said dates had to be with boyfriends? I love going on little dates with my friends and even crashing my parents' date nights!

Everything featured is budget friendly (!!!). I put together two looks, one for a dressier night and one for a more casual day look. I tend to wear flats a lot, maybe wedges if I'm in the mood for a little height. I'm much more comfortable in flats and I never have to worry about sore feet or pinched toes. So regardless of whether I'm going out for dinner or just doing something fun during the day, I'm almost always going to opt for a flat.

Who else is loving the stripes and colors of this dress? With a bright and bold patterned dress, I always suggest going for simple details and accessories. Adding a bunch of frilly accessories distracts from the dress.... and is overall distracting. Yuck! Simple and clean is the way to go! I also think the black suede flats would look great every day. (How cute would they look with simple jeans?!)

I love the chambray top with white denim look. It's as close to denim on denim as I'll get. A cropped pair of jeans is perfect when paired with colorful flats. To dress the otherwise super casual outfit up a bit, wear a chunky necklace in a neutral color. (I love pearls and denim!!!)
