Family Time

The whole time my family was here, I totally felt like I was in a different city. It's so easy to forget how cool New York City is when you wake up, go to work, go home, and go to sleep. Even the weekends are a challenge because my friends and I frequent the same restaurants because, well, they're our favorites!

It was so great to have my dad, mom, and sister here for the holidays. I haven't slept or eaten this much since I moved here. It was awesome.

It was cold. And these Floridians could hardly handle it. Not one block went by without some mention of the cold or the wind.

See what I mean? LOTS of eating.

And sleeping.

And Newsies viewing.

And cappuccinos.

The coolest thing in the entire world.

And touristy stops along the way.

I hope your holiday celebrations were filled with lots of family time as well!

xoxo

  2. Lovely photos, thanks for sharing. I like that thing of rediscovering your town/city when someone comes to stay so you make an effort to seek out local gems and excitement. It is called being a local tourist I think (I read something about it online once) and they encourage you to do it at least once a month to discover your surroundings in new ways, very cool!!

  3. Aw looks like you had such a lovely time in the city with your fam! I definitely agree it's such a different place when you have visitors. Day to day it's very easy for me to forget I live in one of the most special cities in the world :)

  4. I love your pajamas! I went through the same experience in my city. It's crazy how different people shape your feelings/perceptions about certain places. I wrote a blog post a few days ago about how I became friends with people who gave me a bad taste about the new city that I live in. You learn so much from moving away.. it's like opening a new door to a totally new status quo and realizing that the world is a lot bigger than you thought it was.

  5. Looks like it was so fun! Loved your instagrams :) My family is coming down to celebrate New Years in Charleston with me this year- even though they've been plenty of times, I'm so excited to take them around "my" city- and of course EAT lots and lots like y'all did!!
