Margarita Recipes for Cinco de Mayo

The fact of the matter is that I truly don’t enjoy drinking… most of the time. I typically just don’t. But I’m not against it or anything. I don’t have a 100% never-drinking-ever rule. If I’m out with friends and I feel like it, then fine. (But if I’m out with friends and don’t feel like it, then no big deal.)
Alcohol to me is just not really a big deal in general. Yes, I was on a men’s team during college so of course I went to a few parties, but I wasn’t crazy or anything. However, I totally don’t judge people who love to party. I mean, to each her own. (I wouldn’t want someone to judge me for choosing not to drink, so why would I judge them for choosing to do so?)
But I digress. If I’m at a restaurant and see something intriguing on the cocktail menu, sometimes I just cannot resist. (Ginger anything and I’m almost always sold.) I don’t really have a “signature drink,” so I tend to just order whatever Mackenzie orders (which is always a gin and tonic).
Now that summer is essentially (let’s pretend at least) here, I’ve been gravitating more and more towards margaritas. Okay, yes… I end up in restaurants all the time because I’m craving guacamole. (Why aren’t avocados their own food group yet?) And when you’re munching on chips and guacamole, why not take the plunge and go for that margarita?
Oh, and it’s Cinco de Mayo! Perfect excuse to find cozy outdoor seating (at a restaurant or in your backyard) and sip on a margarita (or two, I won’t tell).
Watermelon Popsicles | The Comfort of Cooking

I love this new spin on the classic margarita. Perfect for poolside parties!
Rhubarb Margaritas | A Farmgirl’s Dabbles
A super sweet take on the signature drink.

Watermelon Margaritas | Martha Stewart
Refreshing orange, lime, and watermelon juices.

Grapefruit Margarita | Sweet Life Bake
Grapefruit juice is one of my favorites! In a drink, even better!

Paloma Cooler | Martha Stewart
Not quite a margarita, but the Mexican soda is still festive and a bit unpredictable!

Spicy Grapefruit Margarita | The Life Styled
When you want to kick your drink up a notch!

Do you enjoy margaritas? What’s your favorite flavor?

xoxo

I'm the same as you, drinking alcohol has never been a big thing for me either. But I do love some drinks and margaritas are one of them (Pimms, Sangria and a good glass of wine are the others) 🙂

I totally agree, avocados SHOULD be their own food group! You should try the margaritas and fresh guac at Jose Tejas if you haven't already! 🙂

These look absolutely amazing! I'm not particularly a tequila person, so I never buy tequila, so I never make my own and end up just getting standard lime/strawberry margaritas on the rare occasions that I get a drink at Mexican restaurants. If I did, though, I would definitely go with the grapefruit one! Or maybe the popsicles if the weather wasn't so dreary today.
