(How cute is her little Kate Spade bag???)
I feel so lucky to have her as my mother and my friend!
I was trying to think of my favorite story about my mom, but honestly there were too many to choose from. On top of that, there have been plenty of amazing, big moments, but at the end of the day, it’s the everyday little things that I love the most.
We can shop and eat chips and salsa every day of the year and still find something to talk about. We talk about everything whether or not I want to hear it (and whether or not she wants to hear it). Nothing is off limits. I try to call as often as I can, even if it’s only for the four minutes I have before I’m underground on the train.
After I graduated and before I moved to NYC, we worked our way through every season of Brothers and Sisters. We share book recommendations. I walk her through computer issues and she walks me through sewing machine malfunctions.
I designated May as a month for friendships and I have to say that my family is definitely my closest set of friends. My dad, my sister, and absolutely my mom are the best friends really anyone could ask for. We’re super close and get along with each other in a way that most families can’t say. It’s really fun having friends for family 🙂
Happy Mother’s Day!
