Fourth of July Outfits!

Growing up, my family would always travel to my grandparents’ house in North Carolina for a long week of beach and family time for the Fourth of July. I’m not even sure why, but we took the Fourth very very very seriously. Fireworks, sparklers, red/white/blue outfits, parades, starfish painted like Uncle Sam for everybody, and an intense practice-for-months talent show. Gosh, I wish I could pull up some of the pictures from those trips… One year my sister and I had our hair braided, another year the “Billy Bob” teeth made an appearance in every photo, and another year I was lobster red. We stopped going to their house for the Fourth when high school sports kicked up, but this is the first year since both of my grandparents have passed away. The nostalgia is at an all-time high this year definitely.
I put together some fun outfit-inspirations for Fourth of July… I don’t have plans, but I do know that a red, white, and blue ensemble is certainly in the forecast!
perfect for… barbecues, picnics, dinner plans, shopping.
perfect for… watching the parade, enjoying the fireworks, getting ready during the day.

perfect for… trip to the beach, laying out by the pool.
What are your Fourth plans or traditions? Any cute outfits in the works?

Love all of these!! The striped shorts are amazing. Sometimes I'm afraid to wear red and white stripe because I think I look like a candy cane but that acceptable for the 4th right?? Maybe? America!! haha

Those outfits are so cute! I love the second one, the striped shorts make it so festive! I'm moving out to NC soon for school, and I bet the 4th of July out there is absolutely gorgeous 😉

I love 4th of July celebrations – I'm not sure why either. But this year I'm super excited because my little boy is 2 and I'm making him and his cousins all wear those red, white and blue flag shirts from Old Navy. A talent show sounds like a such a fun idea for the future! Hahhaa

OMG! We all got the Old Navy shirts (literally all the aunts/cousins, everyone!) to wear to the parade!

I've been seeing that scalloped bikini everywhere, and I am absolutely in love with it! My favorite outfit that you created is the striped shorts and popover combo. It just screams Fourth of July!!

These ensembles are so cute and sophisticated! I love those Jack Rogers sandals featured in the first look.

Fourth of July Outfit Ideas

I just booked flights home to Florida for the Fourth of July! I can’t wait to get home!!! Now I’m officially on the hunt for some perfect outfits. I imagine that I’ll be spending lots of time outdoors with my friends and family. Low-key, of course, but perfect.
I’m already making plans for no-plans. Isn’t that just the best? Even though I’m going “home,” I’m going to make this a true vacation. That’s one of the perks of growing up in Florida, I guess! I desperately need a vacation, vacation (especially after the craziness of this month) and I absolutely cannot wait to just hang out and do nothing. (Well, maybe I’ll do a bit of reading!)
One of my favorite things to do while I’m home is to go to my favorite places for lunch with my mom and my sister. Pane Rustica is my absolute favorite spot for lunch and I have yet to find something that even comes close to it in New York City. You better believe that I will be there (every day) when I go home. If you want to find me in Tampa, start there.
This outfit is great for summer lunches in Florida. Short sleeves and sandals are a must.
I have a low-tolerance for the sun (SPF 1,000 please), but I definitely need a little bit of Vitamin D. Having a pool in the backyard is also wonderful because I can duck in and out of the house as needed. If I want to roll out of bed and slip into a swimsuit for an 8am swim, then I can! Swimming at night is also the best since it’s generally cooler, but the water is still warm from the day, and I don’t have to worry about sunscreen!
What are your plans for the Fourth? What will you be wearing?

xoxo

I absolutely LOVE all of your choices!!! I am drooling over the red lace skirt. I am trying to go on a spending freeze though as I have bought way too many clothes this summer. I hope you really get to just relax. It does sound like it has been a stressful and busy time for you. It looks like you work really really hard. I love your work ethic as I see so many people your age that do not have that. We will be in Florida the second week in July. We vacation in Seaside FL which I just LOVE.

Have you ever thought about doing like target or Forverver 21 versions of some of your outfits? I ABSOLUTELY love your style, but I can only afford like one jcrew piece a year. Would love to see your style picks from lower priced stores!
