The PERFECT Bag for School or Work

When I heard about Dagne Dover, I was over the moon. I’ve been searching for the perfect professional bag for work… that works.
Some bags are cute, but don’t hold everything that I need. And some hold everything, but don’t have a good shape.
The Dagne Dover bag is genius. It has absolutely everything you need for a working bag. (And honestly, I wish I had used one in college– perfect for carrying textbooks and laptops to and from the library.)
The bag was made for women. And it shows. Cute colors, perfect shape, great length handles, and a proper place for absolutely everything.
There’s a slot for a laptop (up to 15″)
A slip for an iPad.
Pockets for your wallet and phone.
Three spots for pens or lipglosses.
A detachable keystrap at the right length for opening doors at ease.
…. and my favorite part? An insulated cup that fits water bottles or umbrellas.

Everything has its place.
Oh… and besides the bag… Dagne Dover also has the most brilliant wallet clutch.
It’s compact and, just like the tote, has a place for everything. This is so smart. When I run out for lunch at work, I generally end up bringing my entire bag, but this serves as a quick grab and go. Plus, the card case detaches so you can slip it into a tiny bag for afterwork.
Yep. In love.
Don’t forget to check out Dagne Dover to see all the cute colors!
xoxo
PS I’m wearing this dress (on sale!) and these shoes!

PPS Edited to add that the bag pictured is borrowed while I wait for mine from Dagne Dover. They’re a super amazing startup and I met Melissa in her office to check everything out! Can’t wait to receive mine and to hear how everyone else loves theirs… and there’s definitely going to be a giveaway in the future… so stay tuned 😉

I think the comparison is hard/easy. They're the same size in terms of general specifics, but the Longchamp isn't structured and this one is. Longchamp is "throw and go" and Dagne Dover is "store and go."

Ok thanks so much!

I have a few longchamps but this might be my next one since I hate when my papers and such slide everywhere!

That looks amazing! Sad that it only caters to Apple-ites though with the 15"… I have a 15.6" laptop and as most Windows laptops don't come in 15" (and there re 13" and 14" net books but they have like no operating power) I find myself excluded from most modern "laptop bags" by 0.6". Let me tell you, it SUCKS!

But I can see how if I could afford a macbook this bag would be perfect. I would love it if you could do a little post on laptop bags for ladies with a bigger laptop?

Love your blog, as always! Also I've recently become obsessed with the Levo Leauge website, which is ironically sapping my energy at work 😀

Great news! I'm actually placing my order this morning! Won't arrive in time for Costa Rica this weekend, but will get plenty of use with my 18 million other trips coming up in the next few months!

Exactly! The Neverfull looks great, but doesn't keep you feeling chic. Hopefully the Dagne Dover T.1 Tote does! The keystrap is LIFE-CHANGING.

Does the clutch/wallet fit your passport? Also, how heavy is the tote?
I hope they'll expand their color options! Love all those pockets though – so helpful.

Not at all — it's plenty roomy, but if you're on the fence, go ahead and order and if doesn't work out, then no problem! Free shipping, free returns — no hassles!

Beautiful! But the bag is way over budget. Can you recommend a bag for grad school? I'm looking for something large enough to hold my notebooks and strong enough to hold textbooks, when necessary. A zipper closure is a must, and I prefer something with storage or organizational compartment(s). I like the Le Pliage Tote, but I'm concerned about the cost and the lack of storage compartments.

Look at baby bags! They're large, sturdy, and most have a zipper. Vera Bradley makes a great, professional looking one that's on sale for $100 on their website (but I got mine for $50 in store). It has tons of inside and outside pockets; I carry my laptop, two binders, two huge textbooks, pens, highlighters, snacks, and power cord to class without any dumping my bag out to search for stuff.

One note about the Le Pliage and textbooks, if there's too much in your bag, the straps will dig into your shoulder.

Kate Spade makes AMAZING diaper bags and are worth the price. Sometimes you can find them on super sale if you look hard enough online.

I don't own one per say, but I'm a nanny and the KS "Stevie" diaper bag for the two little ones I watch fits all their stuff, my iPad, wallet, sunglasses case and whatever else I need. It snaps and has zip closure, many compartments, and room to spare!

I have considered buying one of my own MANY times for school and personal use, and I can see myself using it as "briefcase" for work after I graduate. I'm waiting til the right pattern comes out!

I love this bag! The design is awesome and it looks totally professional and ladylike without being stuffy-looking! Too bad there isn't a bright color besides the mint…a pink would call me like no other!!! 🙂

I just received this tote in Bleecker Blush as a birthday gift after coveting it for months! I'm disappointed because after I load it with a laptop, binder, and textbooks for a 12 hour grad school/work day, I find it to be too heavy to carry comfortably. When the bag is fully loaded the outer strap slips off my shoulder. I haven't actually used the bag, because I'm worried it will need to be returned. Was this an issue for you?
