Scalloped Skirt

Today is kind of the first day of the rest of my life. I have a pretty jam packed schedule of coffee meetings. (Currently looking for caffeine-free alternatives because I’m worried my poor little heart won’t be survive.) Yesterday was exactly what I needed though. I spent a lot of time catching up with friends and walking a lot around the city.
Walking is basically my favorite thing in the entire world. I went from Murray Hill to the High Line and then from the High Line to the NoHo area. My trusty little ballet flats proved to be perfect yet again. Oh and the weather? Beyond perfect… especially in the sun.
Yesterday, I went to a brunch with women behind Sail to Sable and Annie Griffin Collection. It was the perfect motivation for me as it was my first “real” day of being done done done with my job. Now, let me just say: as excited as I am, I’m also super nervous. It’s… scary. I’m so thankful to be surrounded by amazing entrepreneurial women who are crushing it and have “been there, done that.” The brunch couldn’t have come at a better time. Seriously.
Annie Griffin gifted me this eggplant scalloped skirt and it is perfect. I swear it was made for me. (I’m planning on starting a campaign to get it in so many different colors.) I love the fit, the length, and the perfect little details. (Did I mention that it has pockets?)

I’ve also been wearing this white blouse so much. I’m pretty much constantly picking it up and dropping it off at the dry cleaners. I think I’m going to get a handful more of them… you can never have too many white blouses, right?

And the Kate Spade Beau bag has turned into my traveling office. I think I’m going to do a post on how much can fit in it. I had three strangers on the subway tell me they loved the bag. #NewYorkWin

Absolutely LOVE that skirt on you, Carly! Seriously it flatters your body type so well. And plum looks great with your dark hair – very clean and polished but very fall! Good luck with whatever comes next – everything happens for a reason!

Your life is so exciting! I am graduating from undergrad with my BFA in May and you've proven to be a true inspiration to me. I admire you for taking a risk and admitting of being scared — the latter is what I struggle with daily. Thank you for your beautifully articulated posts and wonderful photography. I look forward to your posts daily!

I recommend Tea instead of your coffee meetings, or else you'll be climbing skyscrapers by the end of the day. I adore this outfit, it's so perfect and beautiful. That scalloped skirt is lovely and will look wonderful with tights.
