Holiday Beauty Looks

I’m not the best when it comes to keeping up with the latest makeup trends. On a normal day, I probably spend four minutes putting on makeup… one of which is applying moisturizer and two of which are for carefully putting on mascara (i.e. poking myself in the eye and getting mascara all over my eyelids).
I got started super late in the game as far as makeup is concerned. In middle school when all of my friends were scooping up all the “juicy tubes” (remember those?!), I was more concerned about downloading the best calculator games and shortcuts. The first time I wore makeup that wasn’t for a school dance was when I was a junior on a school trip and one of my friends put it on for me (after a bit of convincing). By senior year, I was wearing a tiny bit of mascara and eyeliner, but that was largely it. Slowly, very very slowly, I have incorporated more makeup into my daily routine and I’m pretty happy with it as far as an “everyday look” goes.
But who doesn’t love a good reason to put on a bit more makeup than normal? Holiday parties are the perfect excuse, in my opinion, for using extra mascara, adding a little bit of a cat eye, and experimenting with a bright lip. (Actually, a bit of a spoiler alert, learning more makeup tips and tricks is on my New Year’s Resolutions list.)
Some of my favorite looks from Pinterest:
(Loving this Glamour article about how to apply glitter eyeshadow. Normally not a fan, but these look subtly amazing!!)

Smokey eyes for sure!!! I love bright lipstick, but hate getting it all over people and my glass. I loooove that first image.

Also: a tip for not getting mascara on your eye lids is to tip your head back and look down your nose at the mirror. Your makeup always looks good in photos, so you must be doing something right!

For a great eyeshadow you should try the Maybelline Color Tattoo gel eyeshadow in Bad to the Bronze! It is so easy to apply and looks like you have made an effort blending colours!
