Kate Spade | Spring 2014

The Kate Spade presentations are my favorite part of New York Fashion Week. While it’s definitely fun to go to runway shows at Lincoln Center, I really prefer presentations. You get to catch up with friends and you can also see the clothes super up close.
During a runway show, everything happens so fast. It’s over in, like, eight minutes and the models speedily walk down the runway. The presentation is way slower and more relaxed.
Get ready for some picture overload. I wish that everyone could have seen everything. The theme for next year is: Places to go, people to see.
Sometimes– actually quite often– I like to travel. (Who says no to interesting places and people?) And for our Spring 2014 collection I turned to the gardens and streets of Europe.

The best things always happen when you toss the travel itinerary and wander: in sunny capri it’s to pick up lemons from the market for trying my hand at making limoncello, and a juicy Italian gossip magazine for an afternoon of lounging near the shore. In Paris, I can spend hours walking Monet’s luscious garden as much as the city’s tiny side streets all dotted with ornate wrought iron doors and quaint outdoor cafés filled with lively conversation till the early hours of the morning. After that, a walk across the pont de l’archevêché– the love padlock bridge– is de rigueur. But there’s nothing more lively than the winding coastal roads of Monaco during its grand prix. I just can’t resist the fast cars and cute drivers.

To me, they’re all refreshing. And together they inspired our color palette of black, white, lemon, geranium, bougainvillea, giverny blue, and french navy.

The real allure, of course, is that you never know who you may meet along the way.

Bon voyage!

Everything about this dress is perfect. The color, the shape, and that bow. When is the earliest that you can preorder?!

Paris and the Single Girl clutch? This is making me want to push up my postponed trip to Paris and jet over there right now!

The colors of the Paris-inspired collection are my favorites. Classic and fun all at the same time. I was swooning left and right.

The citrusy clothes and accessories for Capri? Too cute.

Loving the limone clutch.

I seriously, seriously need this grey shirt. The bows on the sleeve are just too perfect for words.
Mackenzie and I totally (accidentally) coordinated. I’m so lucky I have M as my partner in crime for these things. I love the presentations, but there’s always a ton of people which means I’m nearly in a panic attack the whole time.
We ended up at one of our favorite cafes around the corner. Chocolate croissants and cappuccinos for everyone.
What’s your favorite look?

xoxo
PS I put together a cute video on Instagram!
