Coats I’m Eyeing…

Coats are one of the most exciting things to me when it comes to cooler weather. Having grown up mostly in Florida, all I ever wanted when it was “back to school” time was one of those cute corduroy coats I’d see in the catalogues. (Remember when back to school shopping was done from a catalogue?!)
When I went to Georgetown, I had one coat. A sturdy black peacoat that I was finally allowed to buy as a senior in high school before a journalism trip to Philadelphia. That coat still hangs in my closet and I wear it frequently in the wintertime. (Seen here last I believe!)
Moving “north” to DC gave me the perfect excuse to really grow my coat collection. It’s really grown significantly over the past few years. I swear, I don’t always love the cold, but having a closet of coats I love eases the pain.
I’ve been noticing that the sun is going down earlier and earlier, and while I don’t really want to admit it, fall is creeping in. Don’t get me wrong, I’m hanging onto summer for dear life, but I know the inevitable is around the corner.
Here are three coats that I have my eye on for fall…
Barbour Waterproof Quilted Jacket | I love the hood and the elbow patches, but the waterproofing is a huge bonus. I have a weakness when it comes to Barbours, don’t tell Garrett that I’m eyeing this.
J. Crew Stadium Cloth Anorak | I love that this coat has a little bit of an unexpected twist: a classic anorak in a wool (just like the peacoats).
Ralph Lauren Faux Leather Trim Quilted Jacket | One word: LOVE. The only problem? Having to decide between navy and olive!!!

xoxo

PS This jacket is a STAPLE in my opinion for fall! It looks great with everything from striped tees to white jeans

All gorgeous coats! We've definitely been feeling fall-ish up here in Saskatchewan the last week or so… Thankfully we're supposed to get a burst of summer heat again, but I'm still longing for layers and scarves – I just can't help it!

I bought the first one in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! It's so cute in person!

I love these coats! Also, I believe we were at the same journalism conference in Philly back in the old days. The JEA/NSPA events were my nerdy travel guilty pleasure. <3
