Cold Weather

Festive Plaid

I’ve been trying really hard to fight off my holiday spirit until after Thanksgiving to no avail. With holiday parties on my calendar and pretty decor popping up everywhere, I can’t help but feel a bit excited. Maybe I’m jumping the gun with my outfit choices lately, but December seems to fly by so I’m giving myself a little leeway for the last chunk of the month and squeezing in some early pops of holiday red.
Last week, I had a half day of meetings in the city, followed by an early evening holiday party with Ivanka Trump, and then a book club with my girlfriends. I had no idea what to wear… it was too cold to wear a dress and galavant around town for my meetings, but I still wanted to be festive for the party. (One of those days where living in the city would have been much more convenient.)
Instead, threw on my favorite black pants, donned a festive plaid popover, slipped into a comfortable pair of black pumps (with flats tucked away), and went with it.
On long days in the city, especially when there’s humidity, I don’t trust my hair to last. This particular day called for a low and long pony topped with a bow.
