I finally found the perfect white summer dress. You know, just about a month shy of Labor Day. Better late than never, though, right?
I’ve tried on and returned a few white sundresses this summer, and none felt perfect. I popped into the Lilly store on Greenwich Ave this week though and was immediately drawn to this dress. I saw it in navy first but reminded myself of the navy dresses I already have so I pulled the white in my size and added it to the fitting room.
True story, I wore it right out of the store.
If you’re picky about white dresses like I am, here’s why I was 100% sold on this one over other options:
- 1. The fit is so good. I love the cut of the neckline and that the dress has a great shape, but there’s still room for dessert after dinner (if you know what I’m saying). I found that this dress fits true to how Lilly dresses have been running this season. (That is, a half-size big… I’m wearing an XXS here, and I’ve been getting XXS/00 dresses from Lilly this year, but I’m an XS/0 in other brands.)
2. The dress is a true white. It could be used in a Tide commercial it’s so bright and white; I love that for summer!!! A couple of dresses I found this year were ever so slightly off-white, but not this one!
3. It’s lined. ?? Full coverage here, my friends.
4. The fabric is also a great choice for traveling as it’s wrinkle-free. Wrinkled clothes are the bane of my existence, and nothing bugs me more than spending ten minutes getting something steamed to crisp perfection only for that to be entirely undone after sitting down. I like a dress that I can actually live in, you know?
Also, a quick note about these wedges. I got them for my college graduation… four years ago. By some miracle, they’re still available for purchase online. They are the BEST gold wedges. I’ve definitely gotten my money’s worth out of them. They’re the best choice when you need a little height but don’t want to commit to a full wedge. And they’re comfortable.
