Summer is starting to feel like a distant memory. Yesterday, I got ready for a quick trip to the city. It didn’t feel too chilly out, so I reached for this plaid wool skirt that I’ve been dying to wear. It ended up being so much colder than I anticipated. It was a super, super grey day outside which made it feel extra fall-y to me. All day I just wanted to sit by a fire under a giant blanket with a book!
I ended up grabbing a quilted coat when I got home just for a little bit of extra warmth. I’ve had this one in my closet for years, and it’s such an easy one to throw on– it goes with so much. It’s sold out, but this one is similar and here’s an option in different colors.

I was feeling the same way about wanting to be reading by the fire yesterday and today! It’s gloomy and chilly here in DC too. I love the penny loafers and have never been brave enough to put pennies in mine, so maybe now is the time!
