On My Radar

It has felt so nice to be at home for a full week. I had such an amazing time traveling, and I’m grateful for every experience, but I’m just such a homebody. I like to be at home with my routine, sleeping in my bed every night.

As part of that routine, the pups and I have been taking advantage of the (somewhat) warmer afternoons by going to the park. Even though I’m still bundled up, I can almost taste summer days. Alas, we’re still very much in the “muddy” season, although it seems to make trips to the park ten times more fun for Ham and Teddy. The muddier, the better for them (but not necessarily the backseat of my car).

I’m looking forward to another relaxing weekend at home and hoping to cross off a bit more fun my spring cleaning list.

Here’s what has been on my radar this week:

ONE // Slip-On Loafers

I don’t know how I feel about the whole “mule” trend. They kind of seem like leather Crocs to me. That said, I found a pair of slip-on loafers (complete with tassels) that might make me change my mind about mules!

TWO // Julie Andrews’ New Netflix Show

What a wonderful, wonderful idea for a children’s program on Netflix. I think they’re doing such an amazing job with original content and Julie Andrews has created what looks like a perfect show for kids. I think I need to find a family to babysit for here in Connecticut, so I have an excuse to watch it.

THREE // Wakeboarding with Dolphins

My high school’s rowing team practiced on a river that dolphins would occasionally swim through. During one practice, a few dolphins swam in between our two boats. We think they were trying to play with the oars, but they swam with us for a good stretch down the river. It was hands down one of the coolest “Florida” moments I ever experienced. This woman wakeboarding with dolphins seems downright unreal. I can’t even imagine what they were all thinking!

FOUR // Hiplet

Coolest. Dance. Ever. This one dance instructor invented a new form a dance that meshes hip-hop and ballet, calling it hiplet. I can’t stop watching videos on Youtube. It’s amazing!!!!

FIVE // “I have a massive zit.”

Please tell me you’re in at least one group text with friends where this is a common occurrence. I couldn’t stop watching the conversation because everything that was being said was so spot on and hilarious. Enjoy.

Ugh. The mule trend. I feel the same way about mules as I do about mock turtlenecks. So unnecessary and weird. Plus, it’s so unsettling to see someone’s unkempt heels. I’m not judging because it takes a lot of work to keep my heels from looking like hooves, but srsly. And how hard is it to put on a pair of slip-on loafers vs. a pair of mules?

I have those loafers already, and they’ve quickly become one of my favorite shoes. Love them!!

I just picked up a pair of loafer slides and I’m OBSESSED with them. I work in retail and they were even ok wearing them in my store all day with cropped sporty trousers and then I changed to boyfriend jeans to meet a friend for dinner and drinks (A+)
