Off the Shoulder Ruffles

I’m going to file this under “best. dress. ever.” I don’t know if it was the release of Beauty and the Beast or the upcoming summer season, but this dress popped out at me, and I knew I needed to have it. While it’s simply adorable, the price might just make it a must-have for the season.

I dressed it up for this shoot. It would easily work for graduation festivities, weddings, and al fresco date night dinners. But I think it’d be just as cute with a pair of sandals for a more casual day around town.

Cupcakes and Cashmere Off the Shoulder

When I decided on the dress, I wasn’t sure which direction to take the accessories. Ultimately I chose to go neutral to let the bright yellow stand out, but the accessories have a certain je ne sais quoi.

These pearl drop earrings are a classic take on the bon-bon earrings that are everywhere. I have a few pairs in bright colors, but the pearls really will go with so much more! It’s a classic take on a current trend.

Glint Straw Minaudriere

This is not outfit related, but I received a new brow pencil as a gift a couple of weeks ago. I started using it this past week and, well, I’m a full convert. I actually emailed Courtney, my photographer, to ask if she edited my eyebrows at all. She hadn’t! The brow pencil is 100% a keeper!!! (It’s also available in auburn and blonde too. Bam!)

Preppy Dress for Wedding

I got these wedges in navy last year and loved them so much I knew I’d want to invest in the neutral canvas this summer. They’re actually on sale now, so it’s the perfect time to buy. I recommend sizing down as they do run big and will stretch out ever so slightly after a couple of wears. You can tie the bow in the front of the back.

Straw Clutch

And last, but not least, this clutch is the perfect thing to have on hand for all kinds of summer events. For whatever reason, I find clutches to be the hardest accessories to really nail. Some feel too prom-y, others feel too casual. This one is a great balance and could easily be dressed up or down. I know I’ll be reaching for it all summer long.

This dress is so pretty on you and I love the yellow color! It seems like everyone is wearing yellow right now and it looks so brilliant. It makes me so sad that I just can’t pull off the yellow.

ADORE that dress!!!!!!! I have been looking for some new yellow clothes for Spring. The dress seems semi-short for length. Do you feel it’s more on the shorter side? I’m almost 5’8 and slender, so dresses can be so hard to find that are appropriate length! WHAT a great price though! Wedding season is coming up and this is perfect for the summertime! Thanks for sharing.

I love how bright and cheerful this dress is! The color looks amazing on you! I think it was also a wise choice to keep the accessories neutral, to really make the dress stand out. I’m especially in love with those earrings!

I bought those earrings last week and can’t wait for them to arrive! I’m happy to see you modeling them – there was no model in the Nordstrom product shots and they are just as cute as I’d hoped.
